Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7
Hi ladies,
This has undoubtedly been a devastating week. The tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, is almost more than I can comprehend, and I don’t understand such evil.
While there has been lots of reporting on television and talk on social media about the tragedy, I have tried to limit my intake and spend more time praying and reading scripture.
How could this happen? Who’s to fault? What can we do? All those are valid questions and truthfully deserve answers. I’m not here to debate those issues.
But I have wondered if we shouldn’t expect this when we have taken God out of everything. We’ve saturated our kids with entertainment that glorifies violence and sin.
At some point, we have to know that it would be detrimental. I can’t imagine what an 18-year-old has seen in their lifetime compared to what I saw living without the internet.
My heart hurts for our children.
While I am still trying to process the past week’s events and praying for all those who lost children, I cling to scripture that reminds me that God can heal our nation.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
And He said, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the Lord, am your healer.” Exodus 15:16
But you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst. Exodus 23:25
Let’s commit to praying that our country will seek God again. It’s never too late!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Thank you for this!
Thank you . I am heartbroken and so sad for what has happened in Uvalde this week. This was helpful. God bless!
Cyndi, I could have not said this better myself. They are taking God out of everything and He sees everything that is going on. I remember we use to pray in school and say the Pledge of Allegiance every day. Too much violence on television and especially video games that children play. Praying for our great country. I have seen third world countries, and if you’re born in America…you hit the jackpot. Yes, we can do things better but we need GOD.
